Background:
openshop is an exciting new company, with its main products a home-shopping channel and ecommerce platform.
For long, the stereotypical target audience of home shopping has been middle-aged women/housewives with a disposable income, and one of openshop’s main goals is to expand to younger audience.
Scope:
Rebranding and redesigning the flow for the ecommerce website and mobile app.
Emphasis on appealing to the younger audience, but still keeping the main functions flow easy to learn for the current audience.
Process:
To do this, primary research on competitors and current modern shopping platforms was conducted, as well as surveys from current customers to gain improvement insights from feedback.
Secondary research is done through data extracted during and after the soft launch, using Google Analytics and internal data tracking system.
The results were then analyzed and brainstormed alongside media design team, in order to craft a design system that implements seamlessly between TV and digital.
As the only UI/UX designer on the team, I was in charge of the UI/UX of both the new website and app.
Result:
With the relaunch of the website and app, we saw a steady rise of users in the 18-24 and 25-34 age groups (142% and 3% increase, respectively).

Background: BNK is an Australian bank, as part of BNK Banking Corporation Limited (ASX:BBC). They may seem new, but they have been in operation for 37 years under the name “Goldfields Money”. Goldfields money started life as a small, regional credit union in 1982 with visions of becoming a national, digital savvy alternative to traditional banking in Australia.
Over the course of 2021, they undergo a transformation into BNK Bank.
Scope: Upgrade the existing banking system into a more intuitive and user-friendly system for both end users and internal staff.
Focus on both the rebranding of Goldfields Money into BNK on front-end, and improvement on back-end operations.
Process:
At the time I joined, the project had already been going for half of its duration - thus, the design system was already set. My task then was to perform testing and UX audit on the current build, working alongside developers and the product team in Sprints to deliver the final products in in time.
